... personal contact counts!
We at CAMPS International maintain close contact with our participants and their families. This often begins with getting to know each other at a trade fair for study abroad or with an individual, personal consultation at our office.
For thorough preparation before going abroad, we offer our high school students - in addition to ongoing telephone support - a preparatory workshop in Hamburg and optional participation in our Orientation Days in the destination country.
We stay in contact with many of our participants long after they return to Germany. Every year we organize a returnee meeting for all returned high school students. The connection to CAMPS is often deepened here - many returnees support us later at workshops and trade fairs and are happy to be able to pass on their own experiences and tips to future CAMPS travelers. Some returnees also decide to take a look behind the scenes of "their" exchange organization through an internship.
CAMPS International is present throughout the year at numerous trade fairs for going abroad in Germany. Below you will find a corresponding list of trade fairs. The youth education fairs (JuBi) and the student exchange fairs take place on Saturdays (in some cases also on Sundays) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
You can find more information about the youth education fairs here.
You can find more information about the student exchange fairs here.
Want to meet us? You can speak to us personally at the following educational fairs!
Do you feel lost or unsure what is right for you with the large selection of programs and possibilities and would like more information or individual advising? Or are you just curious about our team?
Then come and get to know us! You can find our offices at Poolstraße 36, 20355 in Hamburg & Kurfürstendamm 194, 10707 in Berlin. It is best to call us at 040 822 90 27-0 beforehand so that we can arrange a timely appointment. Are you not from Hamburg, Berlin or the surrounding area? No problem! We would also like to visit you in your city.
We look forward to meeting you!
In order for you to be optimally prepared for your time abroad, we invite you and your parents to a full-day preparation workshop. You can ask the CAMPS International Team all your questions here and get to know other high school participants.
The workshop is intended to help clarify open questions on the subject of host families and everyday school life, as well as on organizational issues such as flights, insurance and visas. Former CAMPS International students are also at the workshop and share some of their very personal experiences as exchange students, which is also particularly helpful and informative.
Once a year, CAMPS International organizes a returnee meeting on the German Baltic Sea for everyone returning from their time abroad in the same year. For a whole weekend you have the opportunity to exchange experiences with others - maybe "old acquaintances" from the preparatory workshop or the Orientation Days - to chill, chat, feast and celebrate on the beach or around the campfire.
For us, the returnee meeting is particularly valuable because here, in addition to your positive experiences, we can also process difficult events with you and get feedback. This allows us to continuously improve our programs and respond even better to the needs of future participants.
In order to prepare our high school students for their stay in the best possible way and to ease any nerves before they arrive in their host family, we also offer Orientation Days in the destination country or during a stopover in addition to our preparatory workshop in Germany.
